Dear valued customers,
You have probably received our emails or seen our social media posts by now. We have been temporarily shut down due to a serious and significant flood in the basement of our building, Revolution Square.
This flood started in the early morning hours on Wednesday January 24. To date, excavation and assessments have been underway. For the safety of crews working in the basement, the building has been de-energized and evacuated, which means all business operations have been closed since last week. We were very hopeful that by Monday, the remediation crew would have been able to restore power to us main level tenants so we can resume operations. However, the update we received Monday is that they need far more time than anticipated, in the realm of two weeks, to be able to figure things out.
As you know, we make a fresh food product. We purchase produce multiple times per week, juice fresh and our products only last a week at most. After experiencing equipment challenges early in January and having been shut down for two weeks then, we decided we simply cannot do this today-maybe-tomorrow song and dance again and continue to lose product, inventory and revenue. To be on the safe side and allow this issue to take its course, we have decided it's best to plan to be closed for the month of February 2024.
We are extremely blessed that we did not suffer any material or physical damage from this flood. Our shop, equipment, tools and materials are all intact. When the utilities are restored to the building and we are allowed to resume business operations, we can jump right in and pick up where we left off.
This is a first-time experience for us. Like all businesses in our building, we are working with our insurance company to help us recover some loss in revenue and whatever raw materials and finished product we have to discard. From a small business perspective, retaining our customers, being open for business and having revenue come through is our ultimate priority. Insurance might compensate a little bit, but it certainly will not keep the business afloat. We will be hunkering down over the next week to develop new strategies that can keep us all connected and help us stay afloat during the coming month. Our goal is to continue to add value to your life and keep you on track with your health and wellness goals. Stay tuned for this!
Until we see you again, THANK YOU for supporting us and for all your well wishes during this very strange week. We appreciate you and can't wait to see you again soon.
Kareema, Ala and the Neo Juicery team :)
